Hey, there's been some big changes around here at Naturally Nora, so let me reintroduce myself. I’m Nora, a Holistic Nutritionist, Yoga Instructor, Personal Trainer. I’m excited to announce the new pivot of my health and wellness business.
I help women prepare their body for pregnancy by achieving optimal health and well being before conception.
As a single woman in my mid thirties, I am eager to be a mother. I’ve always had this maternal instinct, even as a little girl. I practically claimed my youngest brother (he’s 6 years my junior) as my own little child when he was born.
How will I know if I will be able to conceive?
Am I in the best possible state of health for getting pregnant?
How do I prepare my body for pregnancy?
Am I getting too old to have healthy, viable eggs?
These were some of the questions that woke me up straight out of my sleep on my 36th birthday. I knew that I wanted to have a baby, but my life partner hadn’t manifested yet. I was starting to feel a ton of angst in the pit of my stomach while dozens of questions started swirling around in my head. I started to get really nervous about how much time I had left to have a baby.
To be honest, I never thought I would be single without kids at this stage of my life. But as I am slowly learning, life can never be predicted and just when you think you are headed in a certain direction, alternative plans dictate another path or outcome. Life has a funny way of giving us exactly what we need in the exactly the right moment. What I am learning is to simply let go, and settle into the flow of my life and be comfortable with its uncertainty. I am slowly learning that settling into this mindset really does come with time and experience.
After succumbing to my fears that my fertility window was getting smaller, I decided to take matters into my own hands. I am now in a place where I expect the road to be bumpy, difficult, unknown and a bit terrifying at times, and if by chance it isn’t, then all the better. Smooth sailing offers us moments of grace, but rough waters really help us appreciate the smooth moments in life and also push us to stretch ourselves, think outside the box and open our mind to opportunities that we never thought existed.
This is exactly how I landed in this next phase of my professional life and I wouldn’t change it nor do I regret all of my life experience that have brought me here today. I am definitely not an expert, but what helps is seeing everything as a learning and growing experience. It’s these moments that make us who we are. I have decided to awaken to it, to use it as my power and strength to ultimately help me flip the script and stay confident in the mindset that women can conceive and have healthy, beautiful babies later in life.
Now it is my calling to help you take a stance for your reproductive and overall health.
